"Democratic Constitution NZ" 

Its title is its purpose: to help us, the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand, to grant ourselves our first Democratic Constitution before 2020.

On other pages, listed in the column on the left, are various articles and writings that help explain the origins of this project, the reasons why it is so necessary, and some basic steps to achieve it.

This is a 'work in progress' site that will change and grow because its inspiration is crystal clear: democracy is about ideas, *not* individual egos: democracy is about policies, *not* politicians.

There are many links that will gradually be set up to like minded groups both in New Zealand and in the world. First and foremost has to be recognition of the immense influence of the only democracy on this planet, namely: Switzerland.

Then, in New Zealand, there is the growing influence of the movement pushing for Binding Citizens' Initiative Referendums (BCIR).

And outside NZ, from the US, the influence of the DDL is also powerful.

"Have your say!"  say the  media, but our "say" is nothing! Voting for politicians once every three years is truly nothing because we have absolutely no control over what they choose to do in "parliament".

 We must take back what is ours!

  • 1. The right to vote on policies whenever *we* choose to.

  • 2. The right to instruct the politicians to do what we want.

  • 3. The right to have the laws that *we* want, and not just the laws that tiny groups of politicians force upon us.
